Caribbean Report: A Weekend in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands

For my 25th birthday I gathered a small group of girlfriends and headed to the Virgin Islands. There’s nothing more ideal than ringing in a quarter century with stunning beaches, great friends and Caribbean drinks =D It was a struggle deciding which island to pick, as each one has it’s own gorgeous charm (I know, poor me). After hours of research I prevailed and decided on St. Thomas because of the epic beaches, proximity to other islands and the nightlife <-- it was my birthday after all, celebratory evenings were a top priority. I got butterflies in my stomach when looking at pictures from previous travelers, so I thought that was a pretty decent sign that this place was meant to be in our near future.

So we booked our flights and packed our bags. One of my favorite parts about traveling to islands is how light you get to pack! Seriously. Bikinis, fedoras, cover-ups, maxi dresses and sandals during the PEAK of winter. Yeees please.

On the plane ride over, my excitement literally couldn’t be contained. I was like a 5 year old girl on her way to Disney Land for the first time, asking “are we there yet!?” every 5 minutes. I couldn’t focus on anything. I was wide-eyed looking out the window, leg boppin’ ready.to.go. I knew I was in for a special trip, and boy was I right.

We arrived at our perfect little villa, which was part of a resort called Point Pleasant. Choosing this place was a no brainer, really. I do thorough research before my travels and make sure I know exactly what I’m getting into when I arrive, and I have to pat myself on the back with this one because it exceeded my expectations. The staff were incredible sweet and accommodating from the moment we stepped foot on property and the views were out.of.this.world. Likkee breathtaking, jaw-dropping, pics can't do it justice kind of views.

So we put on our bikinis, made ourselves a cocktail and let the weekend unfold.

I’ll let the pics do most of the talkin' because honestly, it's tough to put into words:

View from our living room.

First night, drinks at the Ritz Carlton

We rented a boat for the day from Nates Custom Charters to take us around the surrounding islands. Passport was needed to enter in the the BVI =)

We pulled up to at a teeny, tiny remote island called Little Buck. We put on our flippers and snorkel gear and hopped into the most beautiful water I've ever seen. We swam with pretty little fishies and learned the painful way to NOT touch reefs. I have a nice scar on my leg to remind me for next time.

P.S- my bikini here is from Montce Swim, check it ladies... My friend Jess (next to me in the pic) told me about them before the trip. We were prob talking about them here ;) They have a store in Fort Laud and I stocked up on a few dime pieces. Seriously, the CUTEST suits. I love them so much that I'm thinking of buying for Hot Pink Hanger !? Hmmmm stay tuned :)

This was the resorts private beach. I didn't complain much this day....

Fun fact: another Montce Swim suit. Ahh the bottoms though! (insert heart-eyes emoji here).

...and then there was the nightlife. Honestly the nightlife wasn't as expected. Red Hook was the "place to be" at night, which was only a 5 min drive away, but we found ourselves at the same bar, Duffys Love Shack 2 out of the 3 nights. It was small and filled with locals, but we made it our own to say the least! I think I speak for the other girls too when I say that we made our mark at Duffys and went out with a big, big bang :)

Sunset from our balcony.

We left with tanned skin, a slight hangover and memories that we'll cherish forever. If this trip is any indication of what 25 will look like, I'm in for one hell of a year. Bye bye, Paradise, love you. Until next time...
